Winsome Harper

As Treasurer for the JAWiC Board, Mrs. Winsome Harper brings to JAWiC over twenty years of experience. Mrs. Harper is a Banker by profession, also Certified Business Counsellor, Farmer and Administrator, with public; private sector experience in Banking, Shipping and Hospitality
Mrs. Harper has worked on Contract with the European Union EU RESISP Project, assisted IICA Research surveys (Food safety; Coffee/cocoa taste test surveys) experienced in project writing including an RBC Children’s Mental Health Project; and Project administration Management.
Along with farming Mrs. Harper is currently employed as Parish Secretary, Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Montego Bay. Mrs. Winsome Harper JP currently serves as volunteer: Director/Asst. Treasurer –Trelawny Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. Director/Board Member – We-Care FPGH (Falmouth Public General Hospital (Registered Charity), District Coordinator – Hunger Homelessness Commission, District 60b - Lions Club International
Mrs. Harper holds Jamaican Securities Dealers Certificate from the Jamaican Institute of Management in association with the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and is experienced in credit, special loans, securities documentation, Insurance Salesman (OLT and Equity Insurance) from the College of Insurance General Studies. She has held licenses from the FSC while with Barita (BPM) and Orion Insurance Brokers ltd and worked in banking for several years, started as a Bank Teller with Bank of Nova Scotia Ja. Ltd, Managerial Secretary with CIBC Ja. Ltd, and appointed by the Agricultural Credit Board as Manager for St Thomas PC Bank
Mrs. Harper, a Certified Business Counsellor has conducted workshops in Entrepreneurship and Grant proposal writing for Micro Small business enterprises. An active JP, Lay Magistrate and registered farmer, Mrs. Harper has a passion for Coffee, enjoys a delightful cup of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee and is herself a 2nd Generation Coffee farmer who knows the losses and joys of coffee farming.
Member of JAWiC attended World of Coffee 2019 in Berlin, along with members of IWCA from around the globe, sponsored by UN Women Caribbean.
